Lost and Found (2006) Carolyn Parkhurst (Author)
A satirical look at reality TV programs sends seven couples on a world-wide quest for fame and fortune. A camera crew follows each team recording their physical and emotional struggles to obtain clues, which lead them to other clues, which could lead to the grand prize. Needless to say, those running the show manipulate the participants, promoting ridiculous and asinine behavior for the benefit of the viewing public. As the contestants charge ahead, some develop insight into their motivation for participating in such an absurd project, while others just fade away. The teams include a mother and daughter, two born-again Christians, two recently divorced brothers, two former child movie stars, two former high school sweethearts, and two techno-geeks. Only one team can win the prize, but at least the laughs are unlimited.
