Dandelion Wine takes place in small Greentown, Ilinois, during the late 1920s. The narrative follows the adventures of 12-year-old Douglas Spaulding, outfitted with new tennis shoes and youthful exuberance as he heads into summer vacation. Douglas and his brother set out to explore their town, mystery and wonder. The inquisitive lads have a magical summer in which they learn about nature, community and the past.
